Arequipa and Colca

ITINERARY:

 

1st. Day: city Tour +  Santa Catalina convent

In the Morning or afternoon, visit to the city that includes:
Carmen Alto viewpoint where you can see the Chilina valley, Yanahuara square, Yanahuara viewpoint and church, main square, the Cathedral whose solid gold custody won second prize in the Universal Exhibition of the Vatican, Church and Cloisters of Company of Jesus, Sistine Chapel (polychromed dome),Chavez de la Rosa complex (Colonial model) or Tristán del Pozo Colonial house and Santa Catalina convent (1580) with their religious cloisters considered a job of colonial architecture unique in the world.

 

2nd. Day:  Colca Canyon (02 days)

Departure at 08:00 hrs to Yura District, in the way we see two peaks in Chachani (6075 meters), then we arrive at the Yura cement factory which we will see. Then we will ascend 55km, at pampa of muleteers we will see the ancient paintings of Puntillo, in Pampa Cañahuas (95km) at 3800 m.o.s.l. we could see herds of vicuña and natural formations product of volcanic eruptions. We will continue to Viscaschani, the Andes viewpoint until reach Chivay to appreciate the pre-Inca Andes. Arrival at the village of Chivay at 12:00 hrs approximately accommodation at the hotel. In the afternoon visit La Caleta Hot Springs, it is advisable to bring swimwear, visit to the village of Yanque, continued toward Chinini viewpoint, we will see the Bridge on the River Colca, where hanging tombs could be observed. 3rd. Day:

Continental breakfast, very early we will go to Chaccila, Cruz del Condor viewpoint, a place to see the Canyon, with a backdrop of Chilca Andes mountains, you can also see overlooking the spectacular flight of the condors.
On the way back to Chivay, we will visit Pinchollo and Maca. In the afternoon return to Arequipa

 

 

4th Day: Andean Museum and the house of Moral

It Includes a visit to: the Andean Sanctuaries Museum - UCSM where pieces of jewelry, ceramics and pre-Hispanic textiles are exhibited, as well as the Lady of Ampato, the mummy ("Juanita") of a young Inca approximately 14 years old. Then visit to the “Casa del Moral”, a seventeenth-century mansion that is one of the oldest and most important architectural monuments of the Baroque in Arequipa. The house is named after an ancient tree that grows blackberries in main courtyard. Sillar on the cover, is a work of art where you can appreciate carved figures .
